Learn Twi and surf in one weekend: join our Busua adventure

Looking for an unforgettable weekend escape from Accra?

Imagine learning a new language, catching your first wave, and relaxing on one of Ghana’s most beautiful beaches. All in just three days. Our Twi&Surf Weekend to Busua combines travel, culture, and adventure into one unique experience.

This trip is designed for curious travelers, language learners, and anyone who loves exploring Ghana beyond the capital city. Whether you’re a complete beginner in Twi or just want to practice a few useful phrases, the weekend offers a fun and relaxed way to learn while connecting with locals and fellow travelers.

The adventure begins early on Friday morning with a departure from Accra. On the way to the coast, we stop in Cape Coast to visit the historic Cape Coast Castle. This important landmark tells the story of Ghana’s role in the transatlantic slave trade and offers a powerful historical perspective before continuing our journey west.

By the late afternoon we arrive in Busua, a small coastal town known for its laid-back vibe and beautiful beach. Our home for the weekend is Scorpion Hill Lodge, a popular spot among surfers and travelers. Located right on the beach, the lodge offers stunning ocean views, hammocks for relaxing, and a friendly social atmosphere.

During the weekend you’ll take two surfing lessons with the experienced instructors. Busua’s gentle waves make it one of the best places in Ghana for beginners to learn how to surf. Even if you’ve never tried it before, you’ll be surprised how quickly you can stand on the board and ride your first wave.

But surfing isn’t the only highlight. The trip also includes interactive Twi language sessions, where you’ll learn useful phrases like how to introduce yourself, greet people, and start simple conversations. You’ll immediately practice these phrases everyone we will meet along the way.

To make the experience even more relaxing, the weekend also features a yoga session by the beach, delicious Ghanaian and international meals, and a cozy bonfire evening under the stars.

This trip is a chance to connect with Ghana’s culture, meet new people, and create unforgettable memories.

Ready for your next adventure? Join us in Busua and discover how fun language learning and surfing can be when combined in one incredible weekend.
