Some of the best travel memories are about the people you meet along the way.
Just an hour or so from Accra, the road to Aburi winds into the cool hills of Ghana’s Eastern Region, where the pace slows, the air feels fresher, and every stop has a story to tell. It’s the kind of place that reminds you that you don’t have to travel far to experience something different.
From morning until evening, we explore some of the Eastern Region’s most beautiful spots, enjoying good food, learn about cocoa in Ghana and picking up a few simple Twi phrases along the way. A warm “Akwaaba” (welcome) or a cheerful “Medaase” (thank you) often brings a smile and starts conversations that make the journey even more meaningful.
If you’re visiting Ghana for the first time, this is a gentle introduction to exploring beyond the capital. A day trip to Aburi will make you want to explore out of Accra even more.
On July 18, we’ll head back to the Eastern Region for another day of discovery. If you’d like to experience Ghana one conversation, one viewpoint, and one new friendship at a time, we’d love to have you join us.
