From market to kitchen: experiencing Kumasi the local way

Travel to Kumasi and around, but do it differently. With us it’s an immersion into the living heart of the Ashanti Region, where history, craftsmanship, language, and food come together in ways that are hard to replicate on your own. Our Twi&Cooking Weekend is designed to go beyond the checklist and offer a deeper, more connected experience than a self-organized or solo trip.

Instead of spending time figuring out logistics, negotiating transport, or wondering where to go next, you’re welcomed into a thoughtfully curated journey.

A highlight of the weekend is our hands-on cultural exchange through cooking and language. Together, we visit the market where you’ll practice basic Twi phrases (greeting vendors, asking about ingredients), and engaging in small conversations that turn a simple visit into a lively interaction. Back in the kitchen, you’ll cook alongside local hosts, continuing to practice Twi while learning how to prepare beloved Ghanaian dishes. Sharing food you’ve helped create adds a powerful sense of connection and accomplishment that goes far beyond dining out.

Traveling with us means sharing the experience with a small group of curious, like-minded explorers. There will be lots of time to get to know each other, and talk about the different kinds of food in our home-country.

Safety, comfort, and cultural sensitivity are at the core of our approach. We handle coordination, trusted transport, and local partnerships so you can focus on being present rather than problem-solving.

Our Twi&Cooking Weekend is about connecting through stories, flavour and language. While a self-organized trip might cover the same map points, traveling with us transforms the journey into a meaningful exchange, leaving you with insights, new skills, and memories that last far beyond the weekend.
