During this weekend trip on 17-18-19 May (two nights) we will do several cultural excursions like visiting the big market and a palace. On Sunday we will move outside of Kumasi two visit the Adinkra Village and a Kente Weaving Village.


This is a great combination between the Kumasi city life and learning about the rich history and culture of the Ashanti Kingdom.

This is how your weekend will look like

We leave Accra at 7PM from Afrikiko, Kanda, Accra. You will meet your Travel Host and fellow travelers before taking of.

After breakfast the Kumasi City Tour will start. You will visit five different destinations within Kumasi. In between there's lunch.

In the late afternoon and evening you can relax at the beautiful hostel. Don't forget to take a look in their shop and get yourself or others some lovely gifts.

On Sunday you will leave Kumasi after breakfast to drive about one hour to the Adinkra Symbols Village. You will learn about the symbols and their meanings. For an extra costs you can choose your symbol and stamp them on a fabric to take home as a memory.

Then we will drive to the Kente Weaving Village where you will learn about the famous and traditional Kente Weaving. You will also take a short tour on a cocoa farm and taste the delicious cocoa fruit.

Lunch is at this cute guesthouse, and then it's already time to go back to Accra. Estimated time of arrival is 8.30PM

The Cost Includes

Can I join with a friend?

Yes! You can both book a bed in the mixed shared dorm, or book a private room for the two of you (you will get a little discount).

I am vegetarian/vegan/have allergies/etc, is that a problem?

Absolutely not a problem. A few days before the trip we ask you to choose from the menu, if there’s nothing on it that you can eat let us know so we figure it out with the restaurant. We are used to organizing safe food for vegetarian, vegan and people with allergies or food preferences.

Can I come with my own car?

Yes, you can book the option “without transportation” in the booking form.
